I hate to do this, but we've closed the public beta temporarily until we can upgrade our hardware to handle the load. If you were one of the thousands of people who used Spanning Sync in the last few hours, you'll still be able to sync. But if you haven't yet used the system, I'm going to have to ask you to wait just a bit longer.
We're thrilled (and a little freaked out) by the literally overwhelming response, but we want to make sure all of our users have the best experience possible. With any luck, the public beta will open again tomorrow, with a lot more capacity to handle the load. Thank you for your patience.
Update: We want to make sure we don't run into the same problem again, so we're carefully planning how to reopen the public beta while at the same time bringing our new servers online. We may also work a new release of the client into the mix, so this will take a few days longer than we first expected. Rest assured that we're working hard to make Spanning Sync available to everyone.

Whoops, sorry for the mess above. I need to slow down a little. :)
My last comment was directed to Doug. Sorry about the spelling as well.

Wow, this is amazing piece of software. I, and I'm sure many others, have been waiting for something like this for a long time. Thank you guys for all the hard work. I can't wait to use it.

Rob, charging for a public beta? Try the Public Beta of OS X ($30, if I recall).

Wow, this looks amazing, just what I was looking for. Thank you so much. Now, if you could come up with a way to sync address book with gmail contacts, you definetly would be my heroes of the year ;)

Ech,
Thanks! And yes, we'd love to have Address Book contacts syncing with Gmail contacts too. As soon as there's an API available, we'll support it.
Regards,
Charlie

No you can't make me wait any longer. I missed the closed beta announcement because I was traveling. The open beta because I live on the other side of the world. And now you are going to make me wait until - well when precisely.
It really is a form of love - it's just coming with teenage-like attachments.

Oh no! I just found what I was looking for and now it's closed. However I do understand and I'll wait patiently. Good luck and if you need any help please let me know.
