Saturday night at 9:51pm PDT (04:51 GMT) Jeff Boyd of O'Reilly Media bought a one year subscription to Spanning Sync, making him our 5,000th paid customer. We contacted Jeff to find out why he chose Spanning Sync. Here's what he said:
My wife and I use a total of three different Macs between work and home, and were using Apple's .Mac service to keep our multiple iCal calendars in sync. Although .Mac is a nice service, in time it became apparent that this feature was the only one that had any real value to us. When it came time to renew our membership, paying $99 for another year just didn't seem worth it.I looked around for an iCal sync alternative that "just worked", and knew my search was over once I tried Spanning Sync. It works perfectly, and the seamless integration with my Google account is icing on the cake. I couldn't be more impressed with your product, and will continue to wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone I know with similar needs.
Although I don't use Spanning Sync for strictly business purposes, I do use it to manage both work and home calendars across multiple Macs.
Much thanks to Jeff and the thousands of other Spanning Sync customers! You're the reason we continue to work every day to make Spanning Sync even better.
This summer we'll be introducing some exciting enhancements to the service, so watch the Spanning Sync Blog
for announcements.

Hey that's great!
I just downloaded the trial of Spanning Sync, and thus far it's been working quite well.
My only gripe is that it doesn't also sync Address Book contacts. This would be a wonderful feature that would surely draw people away from the overpriced .Mac service.
