Customer Earns $1,000 with Spanning Sync Discount Code, Gives Half to Charity
A few weeks ago we were wondering when our Save 5+Make 5 affiliate program would have its first $1,000 referer. Well, we're not wondering any more.
On November 4, Brian Dusablon's Spanning Sync discount code was used for the 200th time, putting his earnings to date at $1,000.
We asked him to describe his experience with Save 5+Make 5. Here's what he had to say:
A friend of mine had been bragging about how much he had made from Save 5+Make 5 in just a couple of weeks so I finally decided to do a social experiment to see how much money I could make. I figured I might get lucky and make my $20 back over a couple of weeks, not really knowing who read my blog or how much exposure I had online.Anyhow, I was pretty blown away, as in just a couple of days I had already made close to $100. Then there were a couple days where I had 15-20 referral purchases. All I did was post an article to my blog (which had, and still has, only a few subscribers), post a link on Facebook and Twitter for my Mac friends.
Fun thing was making money during our recovery from Hurricane Ike, since I was literally making money doing absolutely nothing, with no power, no internet, etc.
I guess what I'm trying to say is, even if you don't use Spanning Sync, it's pretty easy to get 4 referrals, and if you get 5 or more, you're at a profit already (if you purchase the year subscription, that is).
The bonus for me was when Spanning Sync added Google Contact sync. This was huge! All of the sudden, an app I purchased just as an experiment to see if I could make any money off referrals, turned into an app I needed. And the rest is history. I hit $1,000. I'm donating half to charity, and I'm buying a Drobo.
So not only has Brian earned $1,000 (and counting), he's also decided to give half of it to charity, which we find incredibly admirable. You can ready more about Brian's experience on his blog.
The Save 5+Make 5 program is open to all Spanning Sync customers. Just open the Spanning Sync pref pane and click "Refer a Friend" to get started.

Thanks for the article, guys! I can't wait for my first SS check in the mail, or PayPal, or however it's going to get to me. On a side note, the app still rocks as well, ha! Google Contact sync is wonderful.

Brian-
I was just looking at the numbers last night and it looks like you've got quite a payment coming!
It will go out on Monday December 1, and will be sent via PayPal to the email address associated with the Google account you use to sign into Spanning Sync. If that address isn't already associated with a PayPal account, you'll get an email from PayPal with instructions for how to set that up so you can receive your payment.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Cheers,
Charlie
