« OS X 10.7.4 Update Breaks iCal, Spanning Sync Sales Suspended | Main | Shutting Down Today »

Two things.

1. Can't believe it's been 5 YEARS! Wow, congrats to you and your team on that.

2. Sorry to hear you are suspending sales.

However, I'm sure this is not the last I've heard from you.

Best of luck and keep in touch!

Such bad news...

My spanning sync expired today and I find out I can't renew. We used to use spanning sync on both our laptops to keep both of our schedules and our kids calendars in sync. It was like magic.

Unfortunately my wife and I have old hardware and can't afford to upgrade laptops, so we can't upgrade iOS or us busycal. I guess we are orphaned.

Hey guys. I just came across this product while trying to find a solution for a client who just switched over to Google Apps. He is using Outlook on his Mac and asked me to find a way to have his Google Apps calendar sync with his Outlook calendar via iCal. I read a few articles which all pointed to this software, so I downloaded the trial and it worked just as expected.

I am running OSX 10.8.2, and Outlook 2011, and see no issues regarding Spanning Sync not working. Is the issue of discontinuing sales/support more of a market share issue than a functionality issue at this point? Would you be willing to sell just 1 more license? You would make my client (and I) extremely happy.

Thanks for any updates.

Can anyone on this thread tell me of another software that will allow me to sync my iCalendar and IContacts with Google Calendar and Google Contacts? I just found SpanningSync and am so disappointed to read the above. Please help.

So why don't you guys just allow the folks who are using it to keep using it? If you have no interest in continuing the project, what would it hurt?

Spanning Sync has a server component that costs quite a bit of money each month to operate. Since last June, Larry and I have been paying the server bills out of our own pockets but we can't do that forever.

We've got about 5 weeks until we shut down the servers, at which point the service will stop working. The good news is you can get calendar and contact sync for free in modern versions of OS X. We don't think it's as good as Spanning Syhc, but we're biased. ;-)

Thanks again for the years of support. It's been a fantastic experience.
